I know I’ve been absent from the blog for a while! A mom’s job is NEVER done - and that is a fact. Things have been really hectic here the past few weeks preparing for Christmas, family coming in, the shopping, the decorating, you name it. I feel really bad for not getting out here to put something up. There has been so many things going on in Mr. Obama’s world to include some very exciting announcements. I haven’t missed any of it, I just haven’t been able to write anything.
So, I’m just taking the time out today - I only have about five minutes - to wish everyone out there a very Happy Holidays: Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanza (I guess that’s the proper greeting), and whatever other holiday there might be at this time. The neocon hubby has decided to show me how to put images up and we found this one.

So, from my family to yours - I wish you all a very Happy Holidays and if I don’t get back out here in between - A very Happy & Prosperous New Year!

When I heard about it this afternoon I was absolutely elated! Of all the possible people that could have been named for this honor and for President-Elect Obama to actually receive this is just absolutely amazing! He truly deserves it for all that he has accomplished and for the historical moment he has provided this great country.
If Mr. Obama gets this honor this year - just imagine what kind of accolades he will receive over the next 8 years as he helps to rebuild this country and restore our good name around the world! I know - it is 4 year terms - but - I have no doubt at all that he will be re-elected. He has been appointing some very great people to his cabinet posts and with his transition team ramping up - they will all be ready to hit the ground running come the day he is inaugurated.
I know I promised to put something up about his policies and what it means for this country but it’s been a bit hectic lately getting ready for Christmas around here. I haven’t had an opportunity to really read everything or to research everything about his cabinet picks. But, I promise you all - most likely after the holidays - I will be back up and running full force and will be ready to start my reporting.
So, in case you hadn’t heard this great news yet, I just felt it necessary to put something up today. Obama is going to be about a lot of “firsts” during his tenure as this nation’s President.

I know I’m probably one of the last to comment on this whole story about the Illinois Governor. But, this is not necessarily about the scandal itself. This post is about Barack Obama. Mr. Obama came out yesterday and clearly stated that he did not have any discussions or involvement with the governor regarding his vacated seat - and - I believe him.
However, what he did say is “I” - not “We” and then he proceeded to state that he would release all information about any members of his staff and any conversations with the governor. (You’ll notice that I’m not using the Governor’s name - that’s only because it’s one of those hard ones that I would have to keep going back to see how to spell.) Anyway - I hear there is speculation that perhaps Rahm Emanuel has had extensive phone calls and involvement with that transition issue. Rahm Emanuel has also been noticeably out of the spotlight and nowhere near Obama since this all hit.
I still have all my confidence in Obama that he is in no way involved with this whole mess - but I do think that Mr. Emanuel might have some problems. I only hope this does not place any spectre of doubt on Mr. Obama and his upcoming presidency. He is a great man and he has surrounded himself with some great people. But, I must say, of all the people he has chosen to be on his staff, Mr. Emanuel was the only one that I really disagreed with. He’s a very rude individual. This is not the type of person I would have suspected Obama to be his Chief of Staff. While I do understand his loyalties to Illinois politicians and the fact Mr. Emanuel is one of those political insiders - the fact remains he is just one very mean person.
So, as I am 100% sure Obama is not involved, I fear that perhaps some of his people just might be. This should in no way reflect on Mr. Obama. I am sure that in a couple days we will all hear exactly who was involved and what was said as Mr. Obama has promised to disclose.
I still got your back here President-Elect!

As I stated in my about page, one of the primary purposes of this blog is to find ways to help Obama throughout his Presidency. I know, what can one little lowly blogger do to help out? I am but just one blogger among millions. But, it only takes one! In my quest, I hope to gain support through other bloggers by having them come up with ways to help out as well.
Obama is going to be up against some tough times with the neo-cons up there in Washington blocking his every move. While there is a Democratic majority in both the House and Senate, there are enough Republicans to force the blocking of many bills. We need the alternative energy plan that Obama is advocating. We need the health care plan that Obama has shown us and we need more government oversight of private businesses and corporations. But, we also know that these are three of the biggest areas that those Republitards will try to block him on. So, what can we do to help Obama overcome these problems?
This is a good one that I came across as I’ve been doing my dropping. The blogger over at First Door on The Left has been posting up Obama’s weekly youtube speeches. This is a great idea! It’s called information. The more we as bloggers can educate the masses the better. Perhaps, I know this is probably just a pipe dream, if we continue to follow Obama’s policies he has posted up on his website and we provide our comments on our blogs to help educate the public, there might be less resistance. Perhaps by educating the people about the plans, when their Republican representatives attempt to block the bills, we can help rally them to call their representatives and tell them not to oppose them.
The greatest strength we have is our knowledge. Knowledge is king. If we pass on the knowledge and educate, perhaps we can help Obama to build this back in to a unifying nation as he has called for.
This is just one idea. As I continue this blog - I will put up some more. In the meantime - think about it. My fellow bloggers here on the left and center - rather than bash them - lets educate them. Let’s look at Obama’s plans and post them up on our blogs. I’ll be reading through a few of them this week and will put something up here later about one of them.
Thanks,
Sarah

In Obama’s response to the latest news that we lost 533,000 jobs over the last month, he announced that he would expand government spending and make the single largest new investment in our infrastructure since the Eisenhower administration. He plans on creating or maintaining at least 2.5 million jobs in doing so.
You know this news is driving those neo-cons crazy! They never understand the benefits of allowing the growth of government for the purpose of creating new jobs while making improvements to the basic necessities of this country - roads, public schools, public buildings, and the health care system. I’m sure they’re going to start crying about the fact that we already have a $57 trillion deficit and this is just going to increase it. Poppycock! Did it ever occur to them by creating millions of new jobs this also increases revenues coming in to the government?
When business is more efficient and there are more workers in the workforce the government and the economy benefits. Obama’s plan is to provide efficiencies and expand the economy. If they call this socialism - it is socialism that I can believe in.
I know he’s not in office yet - but - we can show our support for this by logging in to his website at http://change.gov/open_government/yourseatatthetable and letting him know!
Thanks,
Sarah

As I remember hearing, Justice Thomas was supposed make a decision today as to whether or not the Supreme Court would hear the case regarding Obama’s birth certificate and citizenship.
While I honestly believe this is nothing more than a neo-con ploy, the fact that there is even potential for the Supreme Court to considering hearing this does concern me a bit. Wasn’t everything about Obama vetted prior to him running for President? In fact, didn’t he have to be vetted in order to become a Senator? If I recall correctly, you have to be an American citizen to be a Senator also.
Also, didn’t both the Republican Govenor and the Director of the Department of Health in Hawaii say they have seen his birth certificate and said it is valid? I really don’t get this whole thing with those neo-cons. Is this supposed to be paybacks or something for the 2000 election and Bush?
There are a lot more pressing issues going on in this country and the world right now that need our attention instead of this whole thing with Obama’s birth certificate. I’ve seen some of those right-wing bloggers saying this is a constitutional issue. Okay, I get that - but - like I said previously - wasn’t he already vetted by the FBI when he ran for the Senate?
I’ll be glad when they settle this whole thing so we can get it behind us and move forward. You know, Obama could settle this whole thing by just providing the Supreme Court with his actual birth certificate. While I really admire the guy, I don’t understand why he just doesn’t put this thing to rest. This doesn’t mean I’m questioning his motives - this just means exactly that - just put it to rest already and shut those neo-cons up once and for all.

First - I want to thank all of you have commented so far regarding many of my inquiries regarding blogging, entrecard, dropping, and the likes. You have all been so very helpful. Also, I want to say thanks to all of you who have thus far shown me a lot of support - given events of the recent days! LOL! Your encouragement is much welcomed.
Now - on to the subject at hand. I just read a very interesting story on Breitbart about Perry County in Alabama naming an annual holiday after Barack Obama. First, I want to say - this is absolutely fantastic! I think that it is great that a county has created a holiday in the name of our President-Elect. Not only is it a holiday - but - it is a REAL holiday in that government offices will close there for the day. This isn’t just one of those “memorial” or “remembrance” days where everyone is still up and running.
With that being said - is it too soon for a holiday to be named after him? After all, he isn’t even the President yet. As the name of this blog implies, I am absolutely inspired by the man and think he will do great things for this country. But - this just seems to be going overboard just a bit. What do you think will happen if, God forbid, Obama turns out not to be the guy we all voted for? What if he turns out not to be a good President after all? Not saying it will happen - but - look at what happened with Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton! They both started off pretty good - but ended in disgrace.
I applaud this county for taking such bold steps. But, is this putting the cart before the horse?
Thanks,
Sarah

Sorry. I couldn’t think of a better title. So, here’s how this story goes. I didn’t write anything yesterday because I was pretty upset. Livid actually. I received a comment on my first post - you know - the one about socialism not being so bad and that we should nationalize health care and provide basic care to all, etc etc -
Well, the comment left said that I was receiving an award for that discussion (which I totally thought was kinda ironic since me and threedegrees were recently exchanging thoughts about awards given to other blogs) and left a link for me to go get it.
Well, when I get over there - the guy totally blasted my discussion…and…he calls himself “The BoBo.” So - the title of this discussion. Is that guy serious? Really? I haven’t figured out how to put links in these discussions yet - but - even if I knew how, I wouldn’t give him the satisfaction. He gave me what he calls The BoBo of The Week Award - which from what I can figure out - is his immature way of baiting liberals.
My husband says he’s a somewhat popular blogger in the neo-con circles. So What! Is that how he became popular? By bashing and baiting liberal blogs? I’m sorry, but, I’m above that. I refuse to stoop to his level. I know, I mentioned him here - but - that was the only way to let you guys know who it was. Have any of you had any run-ins with him?
He purchased a spot through EntreCard. I need to figure out how to cancel it. I won’t give him the satisfaction of advertising on my blog after he goes and does that. Anyway, that hasn’t discouraged me at all from continuing this blog. In fact, it just providers further encouragement! Just like the tag-line says - Putting Neo-Cons outta bizness! If I can figure a way - he’ll be the first! LOL.
Thanks,
Sarah
