What can we do to help?
As I stated in my about page, one of the primary purposes of this blog is to find ways to help Obama throughout his Presidency. I know, what can one little lowly blogger do to help out? I am but just one blogger among millions. But, it only takes one! In my quest, I hope to gain support through other bloggers by having them come up with ways to help out as well.
Obama is going to be up against some tough times with the neo-cons up there in Washington blocking his every move. While there is a Democratic majority in both the House and Senate, there are enough Republicans to force the blocking of many bills. We need the alternative energy plan that Obama is advocating. We need the health care plan that Obama has shown us and we need more government oversight of private businesses and corporations. But, we also know that these are three of the biggest areas that those Republitards will try to block him on. So, what can we do to help Obama overcome these problems?
This is a good one that I came across as I’ve been doing my dropping. The blogger over at First Door on The Left has been posting up Obama’s weekly youtube speeches. This is a great idea! It’s called information. The more we as bloggers can educate the masses the better. Perhaps, I know this is probably just a pipe dream, if we continue to follow Obama’s policies he has posted up on his website and we provide our comments on our blogs to help educate the public, there might be less resistance. Perhaps by educating the people about the plans, when their Republican representatives attempt to block the bills, we can help rally them to call their representatives and tell them not to oppose them.
The greatest strength we have is our knowledge. Knowledge is king. If we pass on the knowledge and educate, perhaps we can help Obama to build this back in to a unifying nation as he has called for.
This is just one idea. As I continue this blog - I will put up some more. In the meantime - think about it. My fellow bloggers here on the left and center - rather than bash them - lets educate them. Let’s look at Obama’s plans and post them up on our blogs. I’ll be reading through a few of them this week and will put something up here later about one of them.
Thanks,
Sarah

Don’t be so quick to assume that bloggers have limited power. We were the force behind Howard Dean’s run for the DNC Chairmanship-which led to the 50 state strategy. We have effectively rid the incoming administration of a couple of really lousy picks in key cabinet positions. We got rid of Dingel and replaced him with Waxman.
Chronicling the efforts and legislation put forth by the administration is a good start; listing the congressmen/women that blocked it is good as well. By bringing to light those members that stand in the way of progress, we have a much better chance of unseating them.
Cheers
I know I will be right here blogging about what I see and hear for the full term of his presidency. I have Obama’s back and have had his back since I tuned into him during his 4th debate with McCain - he spoke to my spirit like nobody has in years. I can not keep the pace up daily but when I tune into an injustice, I will be right there, blogging in the real. Check out my site here as well as www.truthtalk.synthasite.com - that’s where I started blogging but then I moved to this blog spot.
Peace
Hi Threedegrees - I think you may have misunderstood what I was saying. I mean me, as one lone individual blogger, may not have much power - but - collectively all of us bloggers can make a difference - just as you have pointed out. I do understand the power of bloggers as a whole - that’s one of the reasons I jumped in to this feet first. I’m right there with you!
Thank you Truth2U - I will definitely check it out and I’m sure Obama will appreciate your efforts and mine as well as all other bloggers out there doing their parts.
Also, it’s not you - it’s me - I’m just one of those real nitpickers - drives the old man crazy - but - if I’m not mistaken - Obama and McCain only had 3 debates. There were 4 in total if you count the VP debate - but only 3 between the 2 candidates. Please don’t be mad at me for pointing that out..like I said - it’s just one of those things.
