He says he’s not involved and I believe him.

Published by Sarah at 7:06 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

I know I’m probably one of the last to comment on this whole story about the Illinois Governor.  But, this is not necessarily about the scandal itself.  This post is about Barack Obama.  Mr. Obama came out yesterday and clearly stated that he did not have any discussions or involvement with the governor regarding his vacated seat - and - I believe him.

However, what he did say is “I” - not “We” and then he proceeded to state that he would release all information about any members of his staff and any conversations with the governor.  (You’ll notice that I’m not using the Governor’s name - that’s only because it’s one of those hard ones that I would have to keep going back to see how to spell.)  Anyway - I hear there is speculation that perhaps Rahm Emanuel has had extensive phone calls and involvement with that transition issue.  Rahm Emanuel has also been noticeably out of the spotlight and nowhere near Obama since this all hit.

I still have all my confidence in Obama that he is in no way involved with this whole mess - but I do think that Mr. Emanuel might have some problems.  I only hope this does not place any spectre of doubt on Mr. Obama and his upcoming presidency.  He is a great man and he has surrounded himself with some great people.  But, I must say, of all the people he has chosen to be on his staff, Mr. Emanuel was the only one that I really disagreed with.  He’s a very rude individual.  This is not the type of person I would have suspected Obama to be his Chief of Staff.  While I do understand his loyalties to Illinois politicians and the fact Mr. Emanuel is one of those political insiders - the fact remains he is just one very mean person.

So, as I am 100% sure Obama is not involved, I fear that perhaps some of his people just might be.  This should in no way reflect on Mr. Obama.  I am sure that in a couple days we will all hear exactly who was involved and what was said as Mr. Obama has promised to disclose.

I still got your back here President-Elect!

Just because Obama may know this guy through work does not mean he is in bed with him. I am glad you posted this.

Exactly, Robin. Thanks for stopping in and commenting. The right is trying to play that guild by association card again just because Obama knew and worked with the guy. That would be the same as someone saying I’m involved with a crime if one of my co-workers were to rob a bank. Just because you know someone doesn’t mean you’re intimately involved with whatever they do or know on a daily basis.
