Obama provides the HOPE he was talking about
It was very refreshing last night watching Obama’s speech to Congress and hear a very clear message of hope for this country. While I am generally an optimist all of his negativity was starting to weigh heavy.
However, it also made for a very interesting evening in my household. As many of you may know if you read my about page or remember my first post - I live with one of those neo-cons. I don’t think I’ve ever seen my hubby come unhinged as badly has he did last night while we were watching the speech. I won’t go in to any details - but - It was like we were watching a football game or something - only this time - his side was losing.
He was doing a lot of jumping off the couch and yelling at the TV using some very choice expletives -if you know what I mean. While I certainly got Obama’s message and I support all that he is trying to accomplish - it really incited some serious anger out of the hubby. If he reacted that way I wonder if the rest of those nutjog neo-cons around the country reacted the same way? I really don’t understand their outrage.
Personally, while I fully support Obama and his Presidency - as I was drifting to sleep last night thinking about the speech - the only thing that kept coming to mind was if my marriage is going to last 4 years of an Obama administration - let alone 8. If things keep up this way - I’m gonna need one of these anti-aging kits real soon:
Thanks,
Sarah

Sarah,
Yeah, the guy is a regular “rain maker”. I’m just not buying it, there was a terrific discussion on Democracy Now this morning that illistrated clearly the difference in how rain is really made and what the guy with the magic wand is telling us. Check it out if you have the time www.democracynow.org 2/25s program shows how hope is not enough, we need sound policys.
dsent - thanks for the link to that website. I did not know that existed. As for the speech and Obama being a “rainmaker”- he has only been in office for 2 months and the stimulus bill was only signed last week. The policy implementation plans are in the details. Lets give it some time before we start throwing him under the bus.
Thank you Zulfikar. I’m glad you stopped by and I am in total agreement with you statement. We just need to have a little patience. And, thank you for the compliment. I’ll try to stop by at your place when I have an opportunity.
Sarah,
I’m glad you checked out Amy Goodman “Democracy Now”, she is “the voice of the left” in this country I have been listening to her for what seems like about 20yrs. As for your Neo-con hubby and whether or not your marriage will last… . Well you sound like a pretty smart lady I suspect you can do better.
